Session: Tech-Enabled Peace: Digital Strategies for Transformed Foreign Policy
6 May 2026, h. 9:30-13:00
Working Language: English
This seminar explores the increasing role of AI in foreign policy, with a particularfocus on armed conflicts and peace processes. Examples of the use of AI in foreign policy include enhanced early warning and conflict mediation systems, advanced conflict analysis and forecasting, broader inclusion and more accurate stakeholder mapping and engagement in peace processes, and a resourceful right arm for mediators. Particular attention will be given to understanding both the opportunities and risks that AI presents for actors and institutions already involved in diplomacy and peace processes, as well as discussing the transformative impactthis technology will have on the peacebuilding field as we know it.
This event is part of the project "Foreign Policy and Peace Processes: The Role of Cyberspace" (2025-2026), coordinated by the Agency for Peacebuilding (AP) in partnership with The Peace Research Institute of Oslo PRIO and co-financed by CSF Foundation.
