
She is Head of the “EU, Politics and Institutions” programme and Head of Institutional Relations at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). Her work focuses primarily on EU governance, political and institutional developments in European foreign, security and defence policy, civilian crisis management, EU relations with the United Kingdom and the United Nations.
She is an Associate of the European Governance and Politics Programme at the European University Institute (EUI) in Fiesole. From 2013 to 2019, she was Adjunct Professor at Roma Tre University.
In 2018, she was a Marshall Memorial Fellow and Associate Analyst at the EU Institute for Security Studies in Paris. In 2012, she served as a seconded national expert at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels. She is member of the IAI Steering Committee and of the Scientific Board of the on-line journal AffarInternazionali. She graduated in Political Science at the University of Pisa and at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. She also obtained an MSc Degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges) and a PhD in Institutions and Politics from the Catholic University in Milan. She is author and editor of numerous publications and an active member of various associations and research institutions. Her latest book L’Europa matura was published by Linkiesta Books in May 2024.
She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the CSF Foundation since 2022.
