Marta Dassù

is Editor-in-chief of Aspenia and Senior Advisor for European Affairs at The Aspen Institute. She served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from November 2011 to February 2014, in the Monti and Letta governments.
From 2006 to 2008, she led the Strategic Reflection Group at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, composed of academics, diplomats, military officials, researchers, and politicians.

She was Director of the Center for International Political Studies (CeSPI), and she is a member of the Steering Committee of the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), the Scientific Committee of Confindustria, the Board of the European Policy Centre, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).

She is also a member of the Italy-USA Foundation and serves as Vice President of the Centro Studi Americani.

She contributes as a columnist to various newspapers including Corriere della Sera, Il Sole 24 Ore, La Stampa and Repubblica.

In 2020, she was appointed by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to join the group of experts tasked with supporting the reflection process to strengthen NATO’s political dimension.

She is a member of the Trilateral Commission and currently serves on the Scientific Committee of the LUISS School of Government in Rome.

She has been awarded the Légion d’Honneur and is a Knight Grand Cross of the Italian Republic.

Since April 2025, she is Vice President of the CSF Foundation.
